Get Inspired! What the Bible Says About Education

Education is an important part of our intellectual growth as human beings, and while the Bible does not explicitly mention the word “education,” it has a considerable amount to say about knowledge and learning. These scriptures should be kept in mind and applied to any educational circumstance, including earning your online degree from Gonzaga University.

We are called upon to actively seek knowledge to increase our intelligence. Proverbs 2:3-6 instructs, “if you call for intelligence, and to understanding raise your voice; If you seek her like silver, and like hidden treasures search her out, then will you understand the fear of the LORD; the knowledge of God you will find; For the LORD gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Further emphasizing the importance of this wisdom, Proverbs 4:13 goes on to say, “Hold fast to instruction, never let it go; keep it, for it is your life.”

By earning a Master of Arts in Theology and Leadership degree from Gonzaga, you will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of Christian theological tradition. It will equip you with the knowledge needed as you obtain a better grasp of the skills and expertise needed to thrive not only in ministry, but in any organization that has meaning in your life.
