Blackboard – All Programs

What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is our online classroom. It helps faculty tie in online resources with the classroom experience. With Blackboard, students can receive announcements from professors, locate homework, and even discuss material with other students online. This is where students will login to do coursework, interact with instructors and classmates, and submit assignments. It is important to login the first day of class every semester.

How do I get access?

For Gonzaga’s Blackboard site go to

  1. Students may login using their Zagmail username and password given by Student Services.
  2. The first screen shown will be “My Institution” page.
  3. A course will not appear in the “My Courses” section of this page until the instructor makes the site available to students usually the Friday before the first day of class.
  4. The “My Courses” section of the “My Institution” page should list the Department Information site.

Students who do not see the Department Information site or experience problems with accessing Blackboard may contact the Student Services Team at

NOTE: Zagmail and Blackboard are linked, if the password is changed in one it is also changed in the other.

Students can change their password through the password reset portal or by contacting the ITS Help Desk at (509)313-5550.
