Online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program

Online DNP Program Eligibility Criteria

Registered nurses who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply to the Post-Master’s Online Doctor of Nursing Practice program:

  • A master’s degree in nursing with a concentration as a Nurse Practitioner or in Health Systems Leadership/Nursing Administration in which you completed practicum hours. Programs must be accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Current MSN students who will complete master’s level coursework prior to the start of DNP classes can still apply. *Final official transcript, APN License (if applicable), and Verification of Practicum hours must be submitted at completion of MSN program.
  • A cumulative grade point average (GPA) from master’s-level nursing courses of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. If GPA falls below a 3.3 please include an explanation of GPA statement.
  • Must possess an unencumbered RN license from the state where practicum/capstone courses will be completed and provide documentation.
  • Provide verification form documenting supervised practicum hours earned in a master’s program (from graduate program unless the hours can be determined from the transcript).
  • Documentation of an Evidence Based Practice (EBP) course through an official transcript posting MSN or MN degree. If the student has not had an EBP course, he or she can still be fully admitted, but will be required to complete an EBP course during the first semester of DNP course work. Gonzaga offers this course and it is available online to DNP students.
  • Must have taken a 3-semester credit-level graduate-level inferential statistics or biostatistics course within the last 5 years with an earned grade of B or better. If the student has not had a statistics course, or it does not fall within the time constraints, he or she can still be fully admitted, but will be required to complete a statistics course during the first semester of DNP course work. Gonzaga offers this course and it is available online to DNP students.
  • An interview via phone or Skype may be requested
